About Northwest Stadium

Located just five miles outside the nation’s capital, Northwest Stadium is a premier destination for entertainment and the largest sports venue in the Mid-Atlantic.

Since opening in 1997, the venue has been the home of the three-time Super Bowl champion Washington Commanders, one of the National Football League’s oldest and most iconic franchises. From hosting playoffs to a win over rival Dallas Cowboys in front of over 90,000 spectators to 2024’s “Miracle in Maryland,” Northwest Stadium has played host to countless memorable moments in Burgundy & Gold history.

In addition to being a site for NFL games, Northwest Stadium has been a stop on the world tours of many renowned musical artists, including the Rolling Stones, U2, Taylor Swift and more. The venue has also been utilized for international soccer matches, rugby union and several college football games, including the 112th and 125th Army-Navy game.

Beyond the action on the field and stage, Northwest Stadium is a symbol of community spirit and excellence. It has hosted charity events, community gatherings and even special cultural festivals that bring people together from all walks of life.
